Honoring the location of the site was paramount for the owners of this stunning riverfront home. Natural materials and subtle tones were used inside and out to help this modern prairie-style home blend seamlessly with its surroundings.

Modern Prairie-Style on the Thornapple River

The owners of this wonderful home wanted to ensure that the design of the home emphasized the forest-framed views of the river. Understated earth tones, light colors, Fon du Lac stone and wood accents also play off the home's surroundings creating a space that truly embodies modern indoor-outdoor living.

Rustic light oak and sandalwood poplar were used throughout the home to tie together the spaces. The natural grain visible in all of the cabinetry lends itself to a natural feel. The dark walnut island countertop and white quartz perimeter countertops continue the organic sense of the cabinetry. All of these finishes juxtaposed by the clean lines of the hardware, flat-front cabinet doors and modern ringed pendants hanging over the island create a modern prairie-style that is worthy of the home's beautiful location.
