Blending traditional and contemporary design, this home is overflowing with character.
Building a home that features today’s design preferences but also blends into a neighborhood with homes over 100 years old is certainly a challenge. This home in East Grand Rapids is both new and exciting (you need to see the playroom), while holding on to some of the traditional elements that make it feel timeless.
The kitchen features cabinets from Grabill Cabinets in the Madison Square door style in a custom color match “Pavillion Gray” paint by Farrow & Ball on maple. The countertops are Fantasy Brown honed granite and the backsplash is a classic 3″x6″ white subway tile laid out in a unique pattern. Hardware from Top Knobs along with pendant lights from Troy lighting make up the final touches in this space.
A custom metal range hood surrounds a Wolf dual fuel gas range. The Subzero panel-ready refrigerator and built-in Asko dishwasher neatly blend into the perimeter cabinetry creating a seamless look. The wood beams and headers throughout the home pop against the Benjamin Moore Decorator’s White painted walls.
